Harvesting databases and sharing them online on a shared web portal

Today a public web portal is the place where collections from different databases can meet as they share the same thematic, coexist in the same institutions etc.

This is the case of the MaD (Musée des arts décoratifs in Paris) where very different departments live together: decorative arts of course, but also graphic arts, fashion, advertisement, toys, Nissim de Camondo etc. Six databases are periodically synchronized and easily made available in the Skin-Web application.

The MaD staff can thus have access to all the data in Skin-Web and publish any desired item on the web portal.

As for the website of the Département de l'Isère, another ambitious project carried out by SKINsoft, it gathers all the museum and library collections from the region.

Another example: the Palanca website, which harvests and shares the data from over 20 institutions located all over the Occitanie territory: archive centers, regional libraries, Bibliothèque Nationale de France etc.

SKINsoft has now countless innovative experiences in the publication of collections, on the communication and technical level.
